A SIC diode unit is a rectification unit for vacuum tube amplifier (only for we A-08S and A-08SS) made so that substitution might be possible with a rectifier tube.
80 rectifier tubes are attached to we A-08S and A-08SS power amplifier.
Although 80 rectifier tubes were acknowledged because sound is good, I newly constituted from us as a rectification unit so that the SIC diode currently used for various apparatus because it is powerful could be now used as a rectifier aiming at a better sound.
A SIC diode is a highly efficient diode which adopted silicon carbide as a material.
A diode serves to change an exchange power supply into a direct current.
Since the conventional silicone diode generated the leak current of the letter of a spike of an opposite direction in the case of rectification, the noise remained in the output and it had influenced sound.
On the other hand, there is the feature that a sound natural a SIC diode since the leak current of the opposite direction hardly occurs, and clear is renewable.
If a SIC diode is replaced with a rectifier tube as it is, output voltage will rise from the difference in the internal resistance, and it will have a bad influence on an amplifier circuit.
In order to prevent it, even if resistance is put into series so that it may become the same internal resistance as a rectifier tube and it substitutes for a rectifier tube, amplifier operation is kept from changing at us.
A rectification unit uses 4 pin base removed from the old vacuum tube, and it was made to be possible [ substitution of it ] on same 4 foot as 80 rectifier tubes with 80 rectifier tubes.
I enable it to use the sound by a rectifier tube, and the sound by a SIC diode by liking by this, choosing.
Although this product consists of only metal clad resistance of a SIC diode and DALE, in order to include a high-voltage portion, insulated processing of the exterior is carried out with black bakelite, and in order not to spoil the amount of information of sound, internal wiring is wiring on 1.2mm6N copper annealing treatment single track.
I consider the portion in connection with sound quality so that the shortest wiring may be carried out with the best parts.
Moreover, theoretically, although a rectifier tube has a life (said to be about 500 to 2000 hours) for a vacuum tube, since a SIC diode does not have a life, it can be used for a long time.
A sound quiet a rectifier tube and gentle to and a SIC diode give the impression of sound with the force with high resolution which went away and was as a tendency of a great portion of sound.
Please confirm the difference in the sound with your ear once. .
In the way which hears and compares a vacuum tube, the SIC-01 rectification unit can substitute for 80 rectifier tubes as it is, and can carry out a comparison audition.
When actually using, amplifier is turned off, 80 vacuum tubes are extracted, and it substitutes for SIC-1, and please rechoose a power supply.
